The local government election of 2011 was held on the 18 May 2011. Prior to the 2011 elections the Greater Tubatse Municipality
consists of 29 wards. In 2011 the wards were increased from 29 to 31 wards. The ANC received the majority of the votes.
The current political structure is as follows:
- ANC = 50 seats (78.55%)
- DA = 3 seats (5.28%)
- COPE = 3 seats (5.11%)
- APC = 1 seats (1.19%)
- PAC = 2 seats (3.24%)
- UDM = 1 seats (0.19%)
- 2 Independent councillors of ward 20 and ward 21 (5.73%)
- The ANC has 21 PR Councillors, DA 3 PR Councillors, COPE 3 PR Councillors, PAC 2 PR Councillors, APC 1 PR Councillor and UDM 1 PR Councillor.
The inauguration of the 2011 elections was on the 02nd June 2011. In that meeting the elected political office bearers were as follows:
